From the Past into the Future

Future Smart

Since all the "systems" in the house were removed during renovation, what better time to update for the future? Lang Sine, at two hundred eleven years of age, has twenty first century technology oozing from every stone. State of the art "Smart House" technology was installed during renovation to bring the house up to date with the latest technologies. It surpasses most homes built today. "My house is smarter than your honor student."

An electronics closet was built in the exercise room to house the smart house components. Over six miles of wire was run from the electronics closet to every room in the house. Each room is wired for computer networking, satelite internet, whole house audio, two-way video, lighting control, smoke and fire detection, intrusion detection and network telephony. Each room also has fiber optic cables for future technologies. The front gate has run-of-the-mill electricity, as well as video surveillance, two-way audio, trespass monitoring and automatic gate control.

Everything in the house can be controlled via the internet, telephone, or manually. All 44 windows were wired with computer controlled outlets. Electric candles are plugged into the outlets and can be controlled via computer, optically, a timer, or manually.

It just doesn't get any better than this! Or more fun! Now all I have to do is untangle the mass of wires and hook them up!
