Singin' in the Rain, NOT
No matter what the weather, progress is a
requirement. Here Mary and Kenny are helping to install
the dog fence gate. It was cold and rainy for much of this
project which made it quite unpleasant. But I'm sure the dogs
will appreciate it, not. |

Porch Disappears
The north porch on the inside of the house
ell was dangerous, but nothing a chain saw wouldn't fix. We
pushed it over with the tractor and dragged its remains to the
burn pile. Near the ground, the old stucco still remains where
the porch stood. This summer, it will be stripped off and the
stones pointed to match the rest of the house. Removing the
porch also gave us room to place the dogs' house, for now.
Later, an addition will be added to this part of the
house. |

Adventures in House
Moving
The dog house is actually a child's
playhouse that I built from Good Housekeeping plans about 8
years ago. I built it for Lucy and Bear, my Potbellied pigs,
which have since passed away. The dogs seldom use it now, but
it'll be put to good use at the farm. Since the dogs are so
big and there's so many of them, they will be spending more
time outside when they move. The house has cooling fans for
the summer and heat in the winter. No dog day afternoons for
MY dogs! Here, we're moving the house. |
